Who We Are
I was born and raised in Farmington, New Mexico. As a child I attended programs at the local Boys & Girls Club and eventually started to volunteer as an office aid. After a couple of years of dedicated volunteer work I was rewarded with my first real job. I continued to work in the office and also took on responsibilities in the concession stand where I became a popcorn making pro. I worked with the Boys & Girls Club of Farmington until I was about 16 years old. After leaving the Club as an employee I continued to volunteer when I could – helping in the arts and crafts room, etc.
I attended Farmington High School and graduated as a Farmington Scorpion with the class of 1997. After graduation I moved to Lubbock, Texas to attend college at Texas Tech University. While at Texas Tech I found my true calling in the field of communication. I was very proud and exceptionally eager to graduate with a B.A. in Interpersonal Communication Studies in December of 2001.
After graduating from Texas Tech University I moved to beautiful San Antonio, Texas. While in San Antonio I worked with inner-city youth at the San Antonio Youth Centers, a program designed to help inner-city kids and their families learn valuable life and social skills as well as providing a safe and educational environment. After two years in San Antonio I moved back to Farmington.
Immediately upon returning to Farmington I was very fortunate to join the Boys & Girls Club of Bloomfield as their Executive Director/ CPO. I have been with the Boys & Girls Club of Bloomfield for over six years now, and love working with the youth in this community. I am especially blessed to work for an organization that has such an impact on the community and the families we serve. Having the opportunity to be a part of area youths’ everyday lives is an amazing bonus to working for such a great program.
I have been a resident of our great community for my entire life. I lived in Blanco for eighteen years and more recently moved into Bloomfield. I attended Bloomfield Schools through high school and graduated as a Bloomfield Bobcat in 2007. While in high school I played a variety of sports and was an active member of the student council. My senior year I was elected Class President and played varsity soccer.
I started my career at the Boys & Girls Club of Bloomfield in 2004 as a concession stand worker during the basketball season. After the basketball season concluded I was able to take a position as a Jr. Program Assistant in the Club's afterschool and summer programs. In 2007 I was promoted to Administrative Assistant where I got the opportunity to learn more about the day-to-day operations of the Club, interact with parents, and hands-on experience helping with special events and fundraisers.
In 2008 I was again promoted, this time to Unit Director. As Unit Director I get the best of both worlds - working with the kids, interacting with parents and helping with special events and fundraisers. I love being a positive role model for the kids and have enjoyed watching them grow over the last couple of years. I really enjoy working at the Club and am constantly learning new things about the kids, myself and the world.

I attended Bloomfield High School and graduated as a Bloomfield Bobcat in 2002. After I graduated high school I attended San Juan Community College and worked as a Program Assistant at the Boys & Girls Club. I worked at the Club for two years then moved to Phoenix, Arizona to further my education. I attended Apollo College in Phoenix, Arizona and graduated in Nov. 2005 with a certification as a Physical Therapy Technician and as a Chiropractic Assistant. I stayed in Phoenix for four years and worked at a gym as an Asst. Operations Manager then I moved back to Bloomfield, NM.
I’ve been in Bloomfield, New Mexico since September of 2009. In June of 2009, I started working with the Club again. In November of 2009, I was promoted to Sports and Recreation Director. I enjoy my new position because I get to plan and do different sports and recreational activities with the kids. I hope to bring a variety of sports and recreational activities to the Bloomfield community.
I love my working environment and the people I work with are great. I enjoy working with kids because they keep you on your feet; I’m constantly learning new things every day. |
